How to Use Multiband Transient Design & Enhancement

A transient designer is a very powerful tool that allows you to shape the individual transients of the instrument. Make the attack punchier or snappier, sustain longer or shorter, it can do it all.
One limitation of a single band transient designer is that it applies the processing to the entire frequency spectrum of the instrument.
Multiband transient designers give you the opportunity to alter various frequency bands of an instrument separately.
E.g. You can add more sustain to the fundamental frequency of the snare, whilst keeping the rest of the signal unaffected. You can shorten the reverb in the top end of percussion to emphasise individual hits and keep the midrange longer to retain a sense of space.
There are endless situations where a multiband transient shaper can be just the tool you need to make your sounds punchy, sharp, soft or alive!
