How to Setup Complimentary EQ Videos

Have you ever had two or more instruments clashing in your mix? This is because they occupy the same frequency areas.
In order to fix it, we need to use an equalizer to help carve out space so that the instruments can sit well together. This means cutting a specific frequency on one instrument, whilst boosting on another and vice-versa. The problem here is, when you equalize one audio channel, you cannot hear how the other channel will react to the opposite cut/boost. Having to go back and forth between EQ plugins can also be very time-consuming exercise.
To overcome this, we use something called a complimentary EQ technique. In our video tutorials, we go step by step to teach you how to set it up inside Logic Pro X and Ableton Live (Max for Live).
Once you have learned this technique, there is no going back. You will be able to apply cuts and boosts on one instrument and instantly hear the opposing processing on the other. This will make you find the perfect sweet-spots for your sounds, dial in the right frequencies in seconds and will INSTANTLY improve your mixes.
