#AudiotentTip 305. Tips for time stretching your drum loops.
Using a time-stretch algorithm inside of your DAW to stretch a drum loop seems like a first choice. However, a long stretch might can easily harm the transients or introduce unwanted artifacts to the loop.
To get around this, slice the individual drum hits right on their transient and then quantise to tempo. If you're finding your newly sliced loop sounds a little unnatural due to the silent gaps, try adding a touch of reverb to smooth it out.
