Audiotent Tip 318. Learning Sound Design.
This is a great technique to help sharpen your sound design skills.
First, open your favourite synthesiser and load the preset that you really like. Next, duplicate your synthesiser onto another channel and initialise the preset.
Now, try to match the parameters of the original sound onto your empty synth patch. This way you will learn how certain changes will affect your final sound. Then apply those techniques when creating your own original presets.
