Audiotent Tip 317. Layering White Noise.
When designing a patch for your synth, try layering a bit of white noise. This will add some rawness and grit to your sound.
If your synth has multiple filters. Send the noise to a dedicated bandpass filter and sweep until the noise naturally 'glues' with the rest of the patch.
