Parallel Exciter

Audiotent Tip 397. Parallel Exciter.

Here's a little trick to add some colour and grit to your sound.
First, create an AUX channel and add your favourite exciter plugin. Push this processor quite hot to exaggerate the effect.
Next, insert a band pass filter right after it. Now, send some signal from your instrument to this AUX.
Finally, pick a sweet spot for the band pass filter and adjust the gain of the AUX.
You should now hear the added coloration in the specific frequency set by the filter.
This is especially useful when colouring bass sounds whilst retaining the low end or sub frequencies untouched!
