Limiting Bus Group

Audiotent Tip 378. Limiting Bus Group.

A limiter is a tool mostly used at the mastering stage. It brings up the apparent level of the track by limiting the loudest peaks and reducing the dynamic range.
Rather than leaving all the limiting to the mastering stage, we could add it to the buses (group channels) when we mix the tracks.
Light processing here can tame the loudest peaks of your drums, percussion, synths groups etc...
This way, the overall signal of the mix output will be more in control, taking off the workload from the master limiter.
