Audiotent Tip 333. Double Kick.
Drums play a big role in dance music and the kick is definitely a king of it. To spice the groove up and add some rhythmic interest, place your kick in between a regular 4/4 pattern.
This should only happen once every 4 or 8 bars. Next, make this additional kick more subtle, low pass it, lower the volume. Remember, it’s only an accent!
Experiment and try positioning the kick on a different division of the grid too. Tech-House or Techno genres utilise this technique to a great extent.
