Band Pass Delay

Audiotent Tip 399. Band Pass Delay.

Delays are great for making your instruments sit in a mix and give them extra movement.
Sometimes, the delay doesn't need to be obvious, rather, just a 'shadow' of the original signal.
Add your favourite delay to the AUX channel, then insert a band pass filter right before it.
This will prevent the low and high frequencies being delayed, keeping the main focus on the dry instrument.
