Do you want a really unique punchy kickdrum sound? if my kick is sounding weak or thin in the mix, I usually layer multiple samples (sometimes up to 4 samples).
Try to compliment each sample, one can provide the low end, while others provide that punchy click the other was lacking. It can be tough to master this technique so take the time to practice. Some additional EQ may be needed to help balance all the frequencies.
